About
Hello there! My name is Chantal Marianne and I am 21 years old. I was born in Chambéry, France and grew up in a few different countries all over the world. I absolutely love to travel and see the world. I'm a photographer and love capturing new places and faces. This blog is about my life in general, but you will see a lot of my photography throughout. I will also share a lot about my adventures.
I spent a long time thinking of a name for this blog. I absolutely love the French language and the word "vagabond" is an English word stolen from French that means, "of, relating to, or characteristic of a wanderer". My desire is to wander the world and see all that I can see. Usually, the word "pretentious" has a negative connotation, but it's a word that means a lot to me. Having travelled quite a bit as a child, I had a hard time making friends, but when I started college, I found some great friends who love me and tease me. I always correct people who speak French incorrectly because it gets on my nerves. And I eat a lot of bread and cheese. Sometimes I pretend I'm actually French, even though I was only born there. And so, my friends started calling me pretentious and unfortunately, it stuck. I learned to accept the fact that I am a bit pretentious and it seemed like a good contrast to the word "vagabond". So here I am, The Pretentious Vagabond, here to correct your French and wander the world.
Hope you enjoy and thanks so much for reading!!
